WHY DOES A WINDOW BECOME A MIRROR AT NIGHT? - # 1, # 2

This series discusses the fact that the same situation can be seen differently, depending on the context and moment is analyzed.

The starting point is a series of photographs which records factories built during the communist period. Many of these are now abandoned or have only a limited number of functional departments.
I photographed this place many times driving to Braila, the city where I was born and raised. Whenever I go through that road I become nostalgic, reviewing places I know and the changes (good or bad) that occurred during transition.
​
The photos that have triggered this project are made in the evening, on the road back to Bucharest, after having celebrated my father turning 80 years old. In the sunset light and on the emotional background of this event, passing by these industrial 'ghosts' I felt as looking into a mirror which showed not only the disappearance of a personal time but also of a historic one and the dramatic struggle of the Romanian society in transition.
