THE RED DRESS
2001 C-print variable dimension Through my childhood my father wouldn't allow me to wear red. When I found this fabric I bought it instantly, without thinking of when I would wear that dress or if it would suit me. I sewed for a day and it seemed to me that |
although it had a simple and serious cut, the dress gave me a feeling of provocation and sensuality. I exhibited the photographs together with the dress. Hung up on a coat hanger, no longer did it seem to be the same dress as in the photographs. It looked nice and serene with a fine Japanese line at the neck and shoulders. But when I wore it for the first time, I saw in everyone's eyes that my intuition had been right.
