He lived in Romania until 1970, at which point he es-tablished himself in Germany. Between 1971-1998, he worked as a professor at the University of Applied Arts in Pforzheim. He works both on sculpture and photography, being concerned with issues around memory and re-membrance. He is internationally acclaimed especially for developing new, alternative forms of public monuments and memorial pavilions. |
Oana Tănase is an art critic and researcher, she hold a doctoral degree from the National University of Arts Bucharest, with a thesis discussing the documentary practices in recent art. Currently worked both as a curator at the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Bucharest, and as a freelancer. Her projects investigate contemporary art and its display strategies, including issues around the nature of representation in the 21st century, the knowledge production, and the institutional framework. As a contributing editor for various cultural magazines, she is questioning the social /community function of contemporary art and architecture. Currently she is living in Toronto, Canada. The project is coordinated by Aurora Király, based on a concept developed together with Iosif Király.
